Annual Autumn Challenge - a fantastic day out! |
|
The third annual Autumn Open Stockman's Challenge was held once again at the Warrnambool showgrounds in perfect Autumn weather. For the 30 or so competitors who entered the 5 sections ranging from hack, working, obstacle, time trial and mechanical cow; there were some challenges along the way indeed. For those with horses which had never seen a mechanical cow before, it was great to see them try their mounts out against the mobile 'beast'! It was fantastic to see so many junior riders and their lovely mounts out in force this year. They all received ribbons which was terrific - the colour was not important, just the ribbon! The Encouragement section had some new faces in this year which is always great to see. Many of them were new riders and it may have been the first time they were competing in such an event. The Open section was hotly contested this year with a couple of new faces among the more recognisable. Again the Challenge was a great day out for all competitors and spectators alike, and thanks is extended to the organising committee of the Western Victoria Branch of the ASHS and to the 2 judges: Peter and Ann Jelliff. You will find all the results of the Challenge in the Events section of this website - under Event Results (right hand of the screen - there is a link) |
